I enjoy painting on location and have been lucky enough to travel to many inspirational spots across our country. This would explain my variety in subjects. Whether mountain top or farm field I have found there is always a unique part of the scene that speaks to me. To capture this essence in my paintings is exciting and fulfilling. I hope you can enjoy viewing them as much as I did painting them. As I add to my journeys you will have new vistas to enjoy.

Flowers have such beauty and grace. I find the seasonal bounty of flowers fleeting. Whenever there is a display of seasonal flowers at a roadside stand or in my yard I want to paint that single variety before it does a disappearing act. It is magical when I can include any solo performance in my collection.

I enjoy painting from life. At times it is a quiet contemplation of a subject in my studio, at others it is just a small segment of every day life that needs its portrait painted. For instance, a piece of fruit or a broken cup in the kitchen can take on a new eloquence and energy when outdoor light spills in from a nearby window. This drama is the fun part for me to capture in a painting.
